Mending my heart!

I have been in a funk.  I hate funks.  I have also been feeling very down the past few days.  My heart hurts.  I need to pull myself out of it.  I know I do.  I also know what is bothering me shouldnt.  But it does, more that I care to let it.  So,  I figured today I should at least channel that into a project.   

I dont know about you but I love collecting heart shaped rocks.  I have a basket full in my bedroom.  I then always keep one right in the middle of the pile to remind me that life is good.  Life is worth living.  And that life needs LOVE!

So, I grabbed the heart rock.  Gave it a good scrubbing and repainted it to show a mended heart.  Because that it what I need mine to do!

 My finished heart - I even painted a tiny bandaide on it.  

And then I replaced it on the pile!  See!  Feeling alittle better already!

Headaches vs web/blog design

You know how they say there is nothing worse than trying to get sympathy for a headache?  Cause it is a major pain, hard to describe and pretty much invisible to everyone else!  I have found something much worse!  I'm not kiddin ya!  What is it?

Learning web building and blog design!

I know, your totally blown away. 

Why?  because I spent HOURS last weekend working on different aspects of the website I work on and my blog design.  HOURS!  Reading and re-reading instruction on how to do things that when I first go over them in truth it sounds like I'm reading the Chinese instructions.  To an entertainment center laying in 5 million pieces in my living room.  It is just that hard!

Then after the hours of goofing up, starting over, redoing, etc I finally have a breakthrough!  As I do my small football happy dance in front of the computer I always call in my husband to see the new and improved changes.  Can you feel the excitement?

My husband comes in and peers down at my screen....  5 minutes go by and he says nothing.... 

"Arent you going to say anything?" I ask him.

"umm, I cant really see what you have done" is his reply.

"  UGH!  do you SEE that button?  I made it a tiny bit larger.  And instead of popping up on the left, it is now centered!  CENTERED!  Oh and when you mouse over the word it is highlighted in red!  Can you believe it!  Frickin RED!  This is amazing!  My head is pounding from doing all this and you dont even notice the awesomeness of it all?" Im practically falling on the floor at this point.

"oh wow hun, it looks really good.  Love the work.  I'll leave you alone to finish it up." as he makes a backwards crawl out of the room.

He just doesnt see it.

Oh well, I love him anyway! :)  And in reality he does see it , he just doesnt see what a pain it all was to do.

Just like a headache.

My busy Monday!

Oh My Goodness!  Am I the only mom who goes through this?  It's this moment on Monday morning right after all the kids are off to school.  Its like time stands still and I'm able to clearly see my house in a whole new light.  I think I must have spent the entire weekend with rose colored glasses with regards to my house.  Especially if all the kids are relaxed and happy. 

Until Monday morning. 

Then my eyes seem to pan from one side of the room to the other side, room by room taking in all the little messes the kids left behind, the dust that has been stirred up and settled and little paw prints all over the place from the dogs!

Oh the HORROR!

Not that the house was falling down on itself, but it really needed some TLC.  So I dug in and got to work.  I also have been base coating an order of 3 gourds and 2 more for my Etsy store (if they don't sell before I get them posted).  Plus I'm hoping to do a giveaway of a set of 3 of my "graveyard bones" mainly because my sisters want some and don't want to make them. lol oh well :)  Whats a sis to do!

Hopefully later I will have another post with some badly taken photos and a new Halloween project to share!

Sideswipped by a bad dog haircut

I was all set to get the house cleaned and finish up my Halloween decor.  At least enough of it to take a few photos and create a post.  I hope to add to my Halloween decor all the up til the day of.  BUT, I got distracted and thought that I could quickly and painlessly give our cocker spaniel a haircut.  BOY WAS I WRONG!  All her long hair was way over due for a cut, my clippers were dull and she was very uncooperative!  After all that and a bath I layed her down to blow dry her while I brushed out all the tangles - She was FULL of them.  She seemed to like it tho because she fell asleep on my lap.  Just when she was looking puffy and totally cute and bow ready ...

 She rolled over and puked all over my leg, her leg, her ear, my rug ....ugh need I go on.  I quickly washed her off and threw her outside.  Now I'm completely grossed out, my bathroom is a mess, I stripped down and threw on sweats but I wont feel right until I take a shower.  I'm completely derailed.  I think Sweetheart knew I was at the end of my rope when I came in and told him NEVER AGAIN!  There is a reason why I take my baby to petsmart and pick her up all perfect and wonderful.  No mess, no fuss.  So dam worth all the money in the world.  He didn't protest at all.

Oh well, Ill go jump in the shower and try and regroup.  I need to find my Happy place.

Hoarders on A&E

Has anyone watched the show Hoarders?  Its on A&E and the season is starting on MONDAY!

I LOVE this show.  Although I will say that I can't watch it for more than about 20 min before I start cleaning a drawer while I watch.  I've even dumped out my purse and cleaned that out while I watched.

I think part of me watches because I have this intense fear that Im secretly a hoarder.  Does my home look like this?  Thank goodness no, but what if something happened that left me so devastated I fell into being a hoarder.  Oh the horror!  I will be tuning in Monday to watch........   while I clean.
